Jaw Pain, Clicking & Headache Relief — Without Surgery
Pop! Click! Grind! Ow!
Have you heard your jaw do this while you’re eating or talking? Or do you get tension headaches from clenching your teeth due to stress? Your dentists says you need a night guard and you still wake up with a sore achy jaw…
You may have an issue with your TMJ!
Our physiotherapy clinic specializes in helping people with TMJ (temporomandibular joint) problems using hands-on therapy, dry needling, acupuncture and, most importantly, exercise to relieve jaw pain!
We want to help you restore jaw movement and avoid use of medications and surgery.
What is TMJ Disorder?
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the the point where your jaw connects to your skull. The joint, disc, muscles and tissues become irritated and tight causing:
Jaw pain when chewing, talking or yawning
Clicking or popping sounds
Locking jaw
Facial tension
Headaches or migraines
Ear pain or pressure
Teeth clenching (bruxism)
Neck pain associated with jaw tension
Many of our clients see a dentist first, which is great! But in many cases, TMJ dysfunction is a muscular issue and responds extremely well to physiotherapy.

Why Choose Physiotherapy for TMJ Treatment?
A mouth guard or dental appliance can help decrease pain, but it may not be enough. Physiotherapy can help with:
Muscular tightness around the jaw and neck
Trigger points along the chewing muscles
Restricted temporomandibular joint
Stiff and sore neck muscles
Tight upper back muscles
Postures that worsen your pain
We treat jaw pain using conservative, evidence-based care focused on helping you stay better with exercises!
Physiotherapy is the first line of treatment for muscular related TMJ pain. If your jaw pain is caused by muscular tension, weak muscles and motor control issues, we got your back (or jaw in this case)!
Our Treatment Approach
We provide a comprehensive TMJ assessment to determine whether your symptoms are joint-related, muscular, or both.
